Visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating, so we have provided some answers to common questions. We want to make sure you have a good experience when you visit! If you have any additional questions, please complete our contact form or call us at 315-677-3068.
PCC welcomes everyone—whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in a church, we encourage all to visit regardless of your beliefs or background. You’ll find that we are a group of people who truly desire to experience God and discover that life was never meant to be traveled alone.
When are services?
During the school year, our services are on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and typically last a little over an hour. In the summer, our services begin on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.
What should I wear?
We encourage all to come as you are. Most people will dress in casual weekend attire—from jeans to ties—so dress how you feel comfortable and you’ll fit right in.
Is there childcare during services?
At the beginning of the service, Pastor Wendell invites children to the front of the church for Children’s Time. After that, children can go to the Nursery (infants through 3 years) or the Woodland Room (4-6 years). You can exit though the back doors to the children’s wing. Our Nursery and Woodland Rooms are safe, clean and staffed by adults and teens who have taken a Children’s Safety Course.
Older children are invited to stay with their family to worship together. We know this can be challenging for elementary ages, and you will see some parents allowing their children to bring books or a notebook to write in during the service.
Are Sunday School classes offered?
We offer Sunday School classes from September through June for children through adults. These are offered at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays before the service. The Nursery is available for infants through 3 years of age.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by.
What should I expect during the church service?
As you enter PCC, a greeter will hand you a program. If you have any questions about where to go or take your children, they can help you!
Our services are full of live music, sharing of God’s Goodness, prayer and the Message. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.
After the service, we always have coffee available, so pick up your kids and then come and meet some new friends.
Who can attend?
We welcome everyone! Pompey Community church exists to meet all people whoever they are.
